Something Very Special For You -
This year I am travelling quite a bit - right now I am writing to you from India! More and more people are asking me to come and do talks all over the world. I am really keen to do talks especially for the people who are students of my programs and their friends and family. I'm getting very close to launching my new online course about Happiness and we've done a few intimate talks in California for friends and families of my students about this new program. It has been so special for everyone.

My favourite article of this week -
Cellphones at the dinner table? An etiquette expert weighs in - I don't know how you are but I get a little frustrated when people bring their cellphones to the dinner table. I want my friends to be present with me, not off somewhere else. So I was very curious to see what an etiquette expert had to say about exactly this.

My favourite article of this week -
You have to forgive me because I don't mean to brag about my home country of New Zealand. But right now Jacinda Ardern, our 38 year old mother of baby Neve and the nation, is once again all over the news in the UK. The papers are filled with articles about her.

My favourite book of this week -
I feel so fortunate to have spent time with the author of this book, Ocean Robbins, on a number of occasions. He is an incredible human being and has an amazing story. Ocean Robbins’ grandfather founded Baskin-Robbins (the ice cream company). His father, John Robbins, grew up with an ice cream cone shaped swimming pool (can you believe it) but then walked away from the family company and fortune to live for over a decade on an island in Canada on only $1,000 a year while writing bestselling books like Diet for a New America and becoming a world renowned health advocate. He has been one of my heroes and health mentors for most of my life.

My favourite article of this week -
‘Our faith will be lost if we adopt technology’: can the Amish resist the modern world? This is a fascinating article about the Amish community in the USA who turn their backs on not only technology but also the trappings of modern life. I've always been intrigued by the Amish community due to their ability to live in the western world completely differently from most of us. As with anything there are pros and cons to all types of lifestyles. But there is much to learn from each other's differences.

My favourite inspiring story of this week -
Meet the Woman Who Volunteers as a 'Stand-In' Mom at Same-Sex Weddings: It's a 'Complete Joy'. This story touched me deeply. What a beautiful, thoughtful and generous gift to give to the many people whose mothers are not present on such an important day. Sometimes people just do the most wonderful things. I love this woman.

My favourite inspiring story of this week -
This was first sent to me by one of my students in Switzerland, Beatrice. And over the last few days I have seen many people post it on Facebook. I know some of you don't have Facebook and so here it is, on our website, just in case you've missed it - The Unusual Therapist.

My favourite article of this week -
Dalai Lama: We need an education of the heart - The Dalai Lama writing in the Los Angeles Times about his thoughts on how we could look at education differently.
"At present our educational systems are oriented mainly toward material values and training one's understanding. But reality teaches us that we do not come to reason through understanding alone. We should place greater emphasis on inner values."

My favourite magical story of this week -
In another time in history this young girl would have been lauded as the Queen of Sweden. This story I pulled a 1,500-year-old sword out of a lake is delightful tale by an eight year old Swedish girl. A beautiful, heart warming story to make you smile.
